The New and Improved Jamaica of 2011
Posted by in Safe JourneyWhile Jamaica has long been known to be a more affordable Caribbean destination than some of its neighbours like St. Lucia and the Bahamas it has gotten some bad publicity for crime rates. However, things are being done to remedy this situation, and this comes just in time for the arrival of some three thousand new hotel rooms and a new international airport.
Obviously the country of Jamaica recognized that building new structures was not enough in their predicament. As such, by taking steps to improve safety on this tropical island the tourism board is now preparing for their biggest crowds to date. The combination of beautiful island atmosphere, decadent hotel accommodations, and some of the most affordable pricing is an automatic recipe for success, as long as the tourists feel safe.
The new airport was opened last December, and simultaneously six new direct flights to the island were started. Now, Jamaica is the easiest of the Caribbean islands to access, thanks to the airport, additional flights, and the introduction of a new port for cruise ships. Get there any way you choose, but get there.
