Adventure Luxury Vacations in Latin America

The tourism sector has witnessed unprecedented growth in recent decades. Gone are the days of simple and industrious backpackers with the old copies of Lonely Planet finding their way through unfamiliar townships and strange roads. Today, a majority of the tourists are the so-called chartered tourists. Most of them opt for tourist packages offered by travel agencies and resort packages. They want to enjoy with adventure luxury and vacations luxury. The entry of professional marketing people resulted in clever packaging of various tourism products. You can find honeymoon packages, adventure tourism packages, and even pensioner’s packages to idle tourist locations from various agencies. Adventure luxury tourism is a rather late entrant into this mix. It is a mix of vacations luxury and adventure tourism.

Adventure Luxury Tourism

In the traditional sense of tourism, adventure and luxury were kept in watertight compartments. Luxury vacations were for those rich and elite people. While adventure activities were for those people who were young and adventurous at heart, irrespective of their financial status. But the introduction of expensive adventure activities like bungee jumping into the adventure tourism fold triggered a new class of tourism called adventure luxury tourism. Today, tourist packages have become a commodity like cars and houses, which people buy on credit. As a result, more and more people have the option of indulging in what is known as adventure luxury vacations, even if they are not genuinely rich.

Adventure Luxury Vacations

Whatever be the causes, the idea of adventure luxury vacations has a number of takers. South America provides a perfect setting for adventure tourism, with its array of mountain ranges, rain forests, beaches, and vast rivers. The landscape of the continent is perfect for adventure sports like kayaking, trekking, bungee jumping, surfing, and para gliding. The banks of Amazon River and the misty terrains of Andes Mountain ranges, historical sites such as Machu Picchu in Peru provide perfect setting for various adventurous and luxurious activities.

The only thing that was previously missing was the luxury factor. Two decades ago, the luxurious tourism facilities of the continent were not as excellent as what they are today. Previously the whole continent has a laid back and sleepy ambience. But the lack of chronic industrialization has helped the continent to retain its almost mythical beauty. But later, the governments of various countries woke up like a tiger to the endless possibilities of tourism in economic scenario of the countries.

Fun and Adventure

As a result, several spas, resorts, hotels, and tourist amenity centers were created in several places. So, now South America is the place where traditional adventure tourism meets the modern luxury aspects. It is ideal for either vacations luxury or adventure tourism, or for both. The big waterfalls, giant cliffs, massive mountain ranges, and dense forests provide ample natural settings for those wonderful and breath-taking sports such as bungee jumping. It is believed that there are areas on the banks of Amazon River, which are still not exposed to outside world, where people are still guarding the ancient culture. Exploring such areas can be both fun and adventure.
