Who is behind Cool Travel Blogs?

My name is François Painchaud, and I am a diehard Latin America buff and Internet strategy consultant.

Before you ask me how I developed these two completely different areas of interest, let me tell you all about it!

I was lucky to have had a pretty exciting vocation in life. I was already working in information technology when the internet revolution burst on to the scene as a major media in the early 1990’s.

Soon I was delving deep into the enthralling depths of servers and data transfers while working as a network manager on the Linux environment. The opportunities were endless, and I chucked my job to set up on my own, forming my own company to provide Internet strategy consulting to small and medium enterprises.

But soon we were doing a lot more things than Internet strategies. Along the 7 years managing my company, we implemented websites, CMS solutions, designed software and developed complete software solutions, hosted critical data, ventured into e-commerce and perfected the art of search engine optimization.

We had already completed over 400 successful projects by the time I first visited Latin America.

That visit opened a new door in my life. I was absolutely charmed by the ambiance of these countries. I've now been in Latin America for well over a year now, traveling and getting to know all I could about these beautiful countries.

You will find some of my most enduring experiences in the posts of this blog, experiences that continue to unfold as I keep traveling to the ends of Latin America and learning more about its people and their way of life.
